Frequently Asked Questions About Scholarships

Q: How should I submit my letters of recommendation?
A: Letters should be submitted directly by the letter writer through AcademicWorks. Students should not submit letters.
Q: Can I submit my application via email?
A: No. We will only accept applications that have been submitted through AcademicWorks.
Q: Do you accept late applications?
A: No. All applications must be submitted by the deadline listed in AcademicWorks.
Q: If I’m applying for multiple scholarships, can I use the same letter of recommendation?
A: Yes, but you must have a separate copy of the letter for each scholarship application
Q: What should my CV contain?
A: Your CV should be up-to-date with your education, work history, research experience, community involvement, leadership positions, honors, and awards listed. Review the CV and Resume Workshop from the University of Utah Writing Center for writing tips.
Q: What scholarship opportunities exist outside of the School of Dentistry?
A: The University of Utah Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid and the ASDA Paying for Dental School websites offer information about additional scholarships, grants, and repayment options.
